Airports are probably the places where the wait can be the longest!
Where ever they are, the enormous waiting spaces in the airport terminals are covered with carpet, the only floor covering able to take care of the acoustic matters due to the large number of passengers within the same space.
Being on the forefront in the carpet industry, Antron® makes nylon Polyamide 6.6 fibre, to produce quality carpet which are used for a lot of airports round the world.
For many years, Antron® always have had a close relationship with architects, designers and specifiers, offering them color trends books for the years ahead.
This is the last color trends for 2014/2015, done in cooperation with Global Color Research in London with Antron®
Global changes have taken place and economics have dipped and dived, revealing altered ways of living and working. This push and pull state has been brought divided directions to the forefront as we adapt to a new state of play. But what’s significant is that what has been will never be the same again.
2014 brings with the new starting year a general dynamic. Chinese New year may help too?
Despite a low enthusiastic atmosphere worldwide, important ideas are raising up. Nature continues its mega come back everywhere, where sensorial experiences are key and elements of delight bring a fresh sense of optimism. Be fresh, not fake! The classic style is imported for luxury, with authenticity and pastels tones. However, a shadow of concerns is still floating around with dark shades and moods.
4 themes evoke the 2014/2015 inspirations :
Mysterious illusions: is a story of magic and mystery, conjured up an unlikely palette with dreamlike appeal. This trend focuses on creating a veil from the outside world where turmoil resides, stepping back into an ethereal and secret haven. Erring the dark side of the color spectrum, deep shades of black and shadowy grey create transitory and moody effects without being sinister or macabre.
Eccentric Icon: the story talks about a blurring of areas merging past, present and future, making way for a hybrid aesthetic. Classic features and shapes are equally as relevant in our pared down new century as modern technology. The result sees yesteryear ornamentation merge with modern design principles, giving birth to a new ageless aesthetic key for the luxury good market.
Magnified Cosmos: this story remind us to grow your own wellbeing with the health-giving properties of plants, as we rediscover the simple and restorative side of nature. New growth reminds us that nature is bigger than ever and is an important factor in our lives going forward. This trend draws on the basics and explores the diversity of green creating a mood of energy and positivity.
Playful spectrum: it brings the idea of having survived an era of self-imposed austerity a vivid palette of punchy tones drives an optimistic attitude to the future. Upbeat colors reveal a trend that is creative and innovative as 2014 spells the start to economic global recovery. However this is not a return to mass produced design, past mistakes have been noted and new creative approaches to sustainability and materials brings elements of surprise and delight to our living environment.
THEME 1 : MYSTERIOUS ILLUSIONS
This trend focuses on creating a veil from the outside world where turmoil resides, stepping back into an ethereal and secret heaven. The world around us can be a sensory overload with things changing so quickly, this external “noise” motivates us to search for this veil from the outside world or find a retreat for our soul. As a result deep shades of black and shadowy grey create transitory and moody effects.
Black is black and being illustrated in the shadowy sensation of a moonlit night which creating a new sense of ghostly luxury.
Where there is dark there is also light… experimental deep tones of tinted greys and blacks are balanced by smoky shades of pink and cream. Heavy saturations of teal and midnight black ground, still offering strength, a reflexion of our tenacity through the recent global challenges.
Layers of semi-transparent fabrics create ghostly atmosphere. Fluid effects are an essential element in surface design as hard materials take on translucent qualities adding to the temporal mood.
This is not just another gothic revival but elegant chic, where dark aesthetics brings a new beauty to interior schemes and imperfections in print add depth to surfaces. We no longer seek perfection in our materials and finishes we are content with the added character that flaws and metaphoric “laugh-lines” can add to our products and interiors.
